North Carolina Visit

Jackson, Jillian, and myself went to visit my sister and her family for a week. It was from November 9 -16th. My sister & husband, Drew, had Delta miles and was able to purchase one ticket. Which meant we only had to purchase one. I was SUPER DUPER excited to visit my sister. It had been over 4.5 years since I visited her in North Carolina. We briefly saw each other during Craig's wedding a couple of years ago. So, this visit was WELL over due. The flight(s) there were uneventful. We had a vacant seat next to us so Jackson was able to lay out and sleep. Jillian did her normal routine, sleep and eat. We had a quick layover in Atlanta and then a hop and skip to Charlotte, NC. It was wonderful to get to see Sis, Christie, and the kids right away. We saw Drew that evening. He's been working TONS of hours, but we were able to see him a lot compared to the past months. The first evening was just getting ourselves unwound and acclimated to the time difference.
Wednesday: We took the van into the dealership because it was making a funny noise. Since it was during lunch time we brought a picnic for the kids. Aaron and Jackson sat in the "play" room and watched movies while they ate. Nathan crawled around while Sis and I received FREE manicures. That was totally awesome!
Once the older two arrived home from school we hung out for a bit. Then it was off to Ashley's Horse back riding lessons. After that we met Drew at Chick Fillet for dinner and surprised him with a Birthday gift, video recorder. That was really cool because he was surprised.

Nice face Sis ;)

Thursday: Drew was able to take the morning off and we all went to Lazy 5 Ranch. We had to take both vehicles because there was just to many of us-- 3 adults and 6 kids under 8 years old. Lazy 5 Ranch is a ranch with a bunch of animals that you get to feed out of a horse drawn wagon or your vehicle. We went in the wagon because you go off the roads right up to the animals. There are water buffalo, pigs, ostriches, deer (many different kinds), giraffes, and more. Afterwards there is a "petting zoo" portion. Overall, we had a wonderful time there. It was fun too because Sis and I got to talk on the ride up and back. It's about an hour or so each direction. That evening we celebrated Drew's birthday with dinner and a cake. There is actually 36 (is that right?) candles. Take a closer look at the smoke picture ;)

The Kids (Kara, Aaron, & Jackson) felt they "needed" to blow out the candles so they were lite numerous times

Aaron has been asking every day to go and feed the giraffes and zebras. He says, "I ride on the horses, mom, pllleeeaasssee?" He wants to ride on the wagon again! He can't wait until we go again. Lazy 5 was so much fun with you and the kids!
