RV-ing in Gold Country June 25-28

My parents have been tossing the idea of buying an RV. So they decided that they would rent one and go "camping". They invited us and we decided to go with. Overall we had a good time. It ended up being my parents, Jake, Jackson, myself, and Yankee (1 of 3 of our dogs). He had recently had surgery for an abscess and was taking medication so he had to come with us. I was surprised how well he did with the drive up and the camp life.
We drove up Friday after we all got off work and just set up camp. We stayed at Angels Camp RV Park. It is a nice RV park. It has laundry, showers, bathrooms, cooking center, and a pool.
Saturday we drove down to Jamestown and went gold panning. We were there for several hours and we all found a bit of gold. It was fun! Jackson had a GREAT time playing in the "river", dirt, and rocks all day. The first couple of pictures are the group walking down river to find a good place to start. Then they (remember I am over 7 months pregnant at this time) dug up rocks and sand to be panned. I watched, took care of Jackson, made lunch, and then got to help once it was time to pan for the gold. It was good ole family fun. Afterwards we went and got ice cream cones, root beer floats, and milkshakes.
Sunday we went to Columbia State Park. It's an old mining town, with shops, and people re-enacting activities of that time. We; Jake, Jackson, Nana Hayes, and myself, went on the Quartz Mountain Stage Line. We took a ride in a stage couch around the town. At one point we got held up by bandits. Jackson thought it was so cool. The bandit came right up to him, gun pointed, and told Jackson to stick 'em up. His hands flew up above his head so fast that we all started laughing at him. It was the cutest and funniest thing. Jackson tipped a candle in hot waxes making a beautiful colorful candle. Then we wandered through the town and had to try the town's Sasparilla (it's like root beer mixed with a licorice flavor). It was a fun time, but it was HOT. In the last couple of pictures are of us after we had finished lunch and we still looked dreadful. The last two pictures were taken by Jackson. He is our little photographer. When we got back to the camp site we went swimming in the pool to cool ourselves off. I believe it was over 100 degrees. It was HOT, especially since I was seven months pregnant.
Sunday evening after dinner Jake and Yankee took off for home. Jake had to be at work Monday morning. The rest of us camped one more night and then took a leisurely drive home. Overall, it was a fun weekend and we all enjoyed our selves.

More Sasparilla! Jackson really enjoyed it!!!
