Kajukenbo

   Since January Jackson has been doing Kajukenbo (karate) at a fantastic place here in Fairfield, Morales House of Kajukenbo. After the first month we asked him if he wanted to continue and he agreed to do it for one year. He has excelled in it. within the first two months, Love told me that Jackson is a natural and has really taken to it. I felt the same way. He glows when he is there.

   Then after about 2 or 3 months since beginning I was asking Sefu (the master) about belt promotions (I'm new to all this and have no idea how belt promotions worked). He commented that after 6 months they promote as long as they are continuing to progress and achieve their goals. He also stated that he has been thinking about moving Jackson up to the next class. He would be the youngest and it goes from 1/2 an hour to 1 hour of class time. I was impressed that he already saw the potential Jackson has.

    So here we are about 6 months in and I receive two emails. The first states that Jackson would be promoted to the next belt. This email cam on May 14th. We were all so excited and pleased with the work that Jackson has done to accomplish his belt promotion.

   Then on May 30th we received that second email stating that Jackson was going up to the next class. I am so pleased with him and his achievements. Today will be his first day in the new class. He told me yesterday that he is excited and nervous to be with the bigger kids. I know he will do wonderfully.

REMINDERS:
 1. June fees are due by Thursday, 5/23 (since 5/25 lands on a holiday weekend). Late fees will apply if received after.

 2. HOLIDAY: Monday, 5/27. No class due to Memorial Day Holiday.

 3. Mini Warrior Promotion: Since we only have a few kids promoting, we will be doing the belt presentations in class. Promotion fee of $25 (for belt/certificate) are due by 5/23.

 All kids that are waiting for siblings/parents to finish class or either to be picked up must have books or such to keep them occupied. When class is in session, all kids need to be quietly reading or on their electronics (w/headphones) in the Study Center. Please discuss this with your child(ren). 

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

2. Referral Program: For every enrolled student you referred to us, you will get a $10 credit on your next monthly fee.

I know this video is long, but please take the time and watch the complete thing. I am well pleased in Jackson (Jake says her is proud, even though we try not to use the word in our home) and the things that Sifu Menwinn says really touched me (still does). 

It is wonderful to see something Jackson enjoys doing.
